Chiranjeevi tested positive for Covid-19
Telugu superstar Chiranjeevi has been tested for Covid-19. The actor himself informed the same to his followers in social medias by releasing a statement. He was supposed to resume shooting for his new film ‘Acharya’ from this month. As part of protocol, he underwent the test and unfortunately, the result came positive. Chiranjeevi is currently asymptomatic and quarantining himself at home.
‘Acharya’ is written and directed by Kortala Siva. The film is centered around a middle-aged naxalite-turned-social reformer who launches a fight against the system. He is a social reformer, who fights against misuse of temple funds and donations. Along with Chiranjeevi, another leading star will be seen in a cameo role. Though it was initially rumored that Mahesh Babu or Pawan Kalyan would play the part, it is now said that Chiranjeevi’s son Ram Charan will be essaying that role.
Chiranjeevi is also likely to star in the Telugu version of hit Tamil film, ‘Vedhalam’. Meher Ramesh, who had successfully remade ‘Billa’ in Telugu, will be helming this film. Chiranjeevi was also supposed to start works on the remake of Malayalam blockbuster ‘Lucifer’ but the star is not pleased with the film’s adapted script. So it is learnt that he has put that project on hold and proceed with ‘Vedhalam’ remake.
