Confirmed: Mamangam to be Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages
Mammootty starrer ‘Mamangam’ is getting ready as one of the biggest films ever made in Malayalam. The movie is being directed by Padmakumar and Venu Kunnappilly is producing it under the banner of Kavya Films. This period flick set in the 15th century is being made on a huge budget. The makers are planning to release it in Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu languages
The movie is being made on ‘Maamaankam’, a medieval fair where brave warriors from various regions would come together to showcase their skills at combat. The movie has Mammootty in the lead role of a fiery ‘Chaaver’ (warrior). It revolves around the life of these warriors who plot to defeat the Zamorin rulers.
‘Mamangam’ has a big supporting cast comprising of several non-Malayali actors. Young star Unni Mukundan is essaying a prominent role as Chandroth Panicker. Kaniha and Anu Sithara play the two female leads. Tarun Raj Arora, Prachi Tehlan, Sudev Nair, Siddique, Abu Salim, Sudheer Sukumaran and many others are also part of the movie.
The technical crew comprises of State award winning cinematographer Manoj Pillai and veteran M Jayachandran. Bollywood based composer Sanchit Balhara is handling the background score. He is best known for his work in similar epic films like ‘Padmaavat’ and ‘Bajirao Mastani’. Sham Kaushal, a very popular action choreographer in B-Town, is in charge of the stunts.
