It has been reported earlier that Kollywood’s young star Dhanush is all set to remake Premam to Tamil. At first the news was such that Dhanush will act in the film as the male lead as the film and character played by Nivin Pauly impressed him so much. Then came the news that Dhanush will finance the Tamil version of the film with Vijay Sethupathy playing the male lead. Dhanush had financed the recent Vijay Sethupathy- Nayanthara film named Nanum Rowdy Dhan directed by Vignesh and the film was a super success there as well.
So according to the earlier news Dhanush want to finance a film with Vijay Sethupathy again under his production banner named Wonder Bar films. But now Dhanush himself came through his Twitter account and made it clear that he is not going to remake Premam to Tamil as his production house has not got the Tamil remake right of the film.
As per earlier reports his wife had told him to make the Tamil version of the film as she was so much impressed with the film after watching it. Dhanush brother Selva Raghvan also came praising the film after watching it recently. Selva Raghavan was showered praise on Alphonse Puthren and Nivin Pauly after watching the film and he said that if it will be remade to Tamil, it may not be as perfect as the Malayalam version. Because, according to Selva Raghvan, only Alphonse Puthren can make it in such a great way.
He also said that he can’t even imagine another actor in place of the character named George played by Nivin Pauly in the film. He said that even in the Tamil version if it happens, he cannot find anyone who can replace Nivin Pauly or who can match Nivin’s performance as the male lead in the Malayalam version. May be that comment by his brother also influenced Dhanush who was silent about the Premam Tamil version news till now.
The Telugu version of the film is on with the title Majnu starred by Naga Chaithanya, who is the son of Telugu super star Nagarjuna.
