Only actor Dhanush helped her financially who gave her rupees 5 lakhs to use for medical expenses.
Muniyamma acted in a Mollywood film as well along with Mammootty which is Pokkiriraja released in 2010 conceived by director Vysakh. Muniyamma becomes popular through the Kollywood film named Dhool starred by Chiyaan Vikram. She had done quite a lot of Tamil films later and has a common feature in almost all major Kollywood films as well. She had acted along with almost every young and senior actors of Kollywood and her folksongs are quite famous all throughout Tamilnadu and she is still one of the best folk song singer in South India.
