Dileep’s Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel storms past the Rs 10 crore mark
Dileep starrer Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel hit screens last Thursday (February 21) and opened to good response, particularly at the Kerala box office. The fact that the movie had an extended weekend run helped in taking a solid opening. Though the critic reviews have been mixed, theatre response suggests that common audience have lapped up the movie.
As per the makers, the movie has grossed Rs 10 crore from its worldwide theatrical collections alone. Along with that, the satellite and remake rights for the Telugu and Hindi versions have been sold for a huge price. These reports suggest that the movie has already entered the profit zone. Dileep’s popularity and the support of the family audience is helping the movie massively.
‘Kodathi Samaksham Balan Vakeel’written and directed by B Unnikrishnan falls under the genre of a suspense-drama-cum-thriller with comedy elements in it. Dileep’s role of a struggling lawyer with a stuttering problem has earned him appreciation. Others in the cast include Priya Anand, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Aju Varghese, Renji Panciker, Vamsi Krishna, Harish Uthaman, ‘Kalakeya’ Prabhakar, Bindu Panicker and Siddique.
The movie is produced by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, a production giant based in Bollywood.
