Director clarifies on reports about Nayanathara replacing Manju Warrier!!
We had earlier reported about Tamil filmmaker Arivazhagan planning to make a movie with Manju Warrier. The director had initiated talks with Manju but after a while there came no further updates about it. In the meanwhile, the director had signed another movie with Nayanathara. This paved way for talks about Nayanthara replacing Manju.
However, the director himself has now come out saying that the two projects are entirely different. Apparently, he is planning to make a family thriller with Manju while his movie with Nayanthara will be a typical psychological thriller. Arivazhagan has tweeted,
I want to make it clear the buzz around here that the script what I made for #Nayanthara is completely a psychological thriller & not the script I spoke for #ManjuWarrier earlier which was a family thriller.
Arivazhagan is a former assistant of ace filmmaker Shankar. He is noted for helming movies like Eeram, Vallinam, Aarathu Sinam (remake of Memories) and last year’s released superhit movie Kuttram 23.
In a recent interview, the director opened up on why he chose to cast Manju for his movie. He said he wanted someone who can pull off a bold character as it’s a performance oriented one. Arivazhagan has watched most of Manju’s films and he believes she has the capability to do justice to his script. Reportedly, Manju has already been convinced with the script and she is expected to sign the dotted lines very soon. More details regarding the other cast members will be finalized once Manju allots her dates. She currently has Kamal’s Aami, ‘IDI’ fame Sajid Yahiya’s Mohanlal and Odiyan lined up for release this year.
