Director Ram waited years for Mammootty’s dates because no one else play this character
National award winning filmmaker director Ram’s next film, Peranbu with Megastar Mammootty in the lead will hit the screens in February next year.
According to sources, the director waited for years to get Mammootty’s dates because he felt that apart from him, no one else could play that character. Finally, shoot for the movie started in the beginning of this year.
Mammootty is playing the character Amuthan in the movie. Popular actress Anjali is playing the female lead in this movie. Sarath Kumar, Kaniha and Suraj also play pivotal characters in Peranbu.
It is said that Mammootty’s character Amuthan in the movie has the potential for yet another National award if the jury does not turn blind eye towards him as has the case been for many deserving performances in recent years.
Peranbu is a movie about a father daughter relationship. Thanga Meengal fame Baby Sadhana is playing the role of Mammootty’s daughter in the movie.
Shoot for the movie was completed few months and the post production works are in full swing to ensure a smooth release in February.
The movie will also have a dubbed version in Malayalam after Mammootty insisted that the movie has an universal theme that will appeal to the Malayali audience as well.
Director Ram’s Thanga Meengal won the National award for best feature film in Tamil for the year 2013. Yuvan Shankar Raja is composing the music while National award winner Sreekar Prasad is the editor.
