Drishyam a movie which has crossed all language boundaries in India, a film accepted and appreciated by all generations and surely the best in the last 5 years in Indian cinema that came from a regional language. The film has been already remade to 4 Indian languages from south to north after the original version released on 2013 December 19 in Mollywood and it will be interesting know about all of them.
1. Drishyam (Malayalam-2013)
Drishyam is an epic film in Malayalam film industry and in Indian cinema as a whole arguably. As you all know it is the highest grosser ever in mollywood by collecting more than 60 crores from theaters alone and from all other rights it has amassed around 75 crores world –wide and that is seriously out of the world response and success for a Malayalam film. If you ask what was its production cost it was only 4crore rupees. A real classic to remember forever.
Mohanlal who had a lot of adjectives to his name such as the greatest actor in our country, or The complete actor of Indian cinema and the universal star of Malayalam cinema has played the male lead named Georgekutty in this Jeethu Joseph directorial flick which went on to upset all box office records and now interestingly it holds record of holding more number of records in Mollywood. Artists who are a part of this film done a near to perfect job and the screen writing and direction of Jeethu had made this film one of the best ever which graced the silver screens of India.
2. Drishyam (Telugu-2014)
Telugu version was directed by Sripriya and starred by Venkitesh and Meena. Nadia moidu had played the role played by Ashasharath in the Malayalam version. Tollywood’s response was also amazing and in telugu as well the film had done a fantastic job in the box office and emerged as a winner
3. Drishya (Kannada-2014)
Drishyam kannada remake was conceived by P Vasu and starred by V. ravichandran and Navya Nair. This time Asha Sharath herself had done the role which she had essayed in Malayalam as well. This version also a become a super success there and repeated the success saga that begun in mollywood
4. Paapanasham (Tamil-2015)
The Tamil version of Drishyam is all set to come to theaters and the trailer is already out. The title of the film in Tamil version is Paapanasham. Ulakanaayakan Kamal Haasan and actress Gauthami (Kamal Haasan’s wife in real life) will play the female lead. Here too Asha Sharath will play the role of that police officer after she played it in Malayalam and Kannada.
5. Drishyam (Hindi-2015)
The Bollywood version is also coming as the trailer will be out on June 4. Ajay Devgun and Sriya Saran will be the main characters and Tabu will play the role played by Asha Sharath in the Malayalam version
In Hindi and Tamil too the film expected to make its mark and the success of this flick continues even after 2 years of its release. The film is just become an immortal one. In Kannada and Telugu version the only minus those films had that no one can come near the perfection gave by Mohanlal to that lead character and now it will be Ajay Devgun’s and Kamal Haasan’s turn to try it out to come anyway near Mohanlal.
