Dulquer Salmaan completes shooting for his Telugu movie Mahanati

Young Malayalam star Dulquer Salmaan is making his Telugu debut this year with ‘Mahanati’, the biopic on legendary actress Savithri. The movie directed by Nag Ashwin has Keerthy Suresh playing Savithri’s role. Dulquer will be seen as yesteryear actor Gemini Ganesan in the movie. Samantha, ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame Vijay Devarakonda, Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj are also part of the cast.

Dulquer recently finished shooting his portions for Mahanati and has joined the second schedule of his new Tamil movie, ‘Kannum Kannum Kollai Adithaal’. He informed these latest updates through his official social media handle last day.

Mahanati showcases the life of Savithri and Gemini Ganesan. The two were briefly married and the movie will show some lesser known details about their relationship. Dulquer is playing the different phases of Gemini Ganesan in the movie. For that he will be seen sporting multiple looks. Samantha and Vijay Devarakonda are playing journalists in the movie. The story evolves as the two set out to piece together the story of Savithri’s life.

Mahanati is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. As announced recently, the movie will be hitting screens worldwide on March 29. It is also a being made simultaneously in Tamil as ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’. A dubbed version in Malayalam is also planned to be released on the same day.
