E4 Entertainment acquires the Malayalam remake rights of Arjun Reddy
It has been over a year since Arjun Reddy, the Telugu blockbuster starring Vijay Deverakonda, got released. But the movie still continues to be in the news. The movie is getting remade in Hindi and Telugu with Shahid Kapoor and Dhurv Vikram playing the leads respectively. Recently, the Malayalam remake rights of the movie have also been sold. E4 Entertainment have acquired the remake and dubbing rights.
It is not yet known if there is an immediate plan to remake the movie in Malayalam. Arjun Reddy is already a hugely popular film among Malayali cinephiles, so many are of the opinion that a remake can never up to the original.
Interestingly, E4 Entertainment is also remaking the movie in Tamil. The movie which marks the acting debut of Vikram’s son Dhruv is being directed by award-winning filmmaker Bala.
Arjun Reddy, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, was a sensational hit all across the South. The movie is about a medical surgeon who falls madly in love with his college junior. He becomes alcoholic post break-up and the rest of the story is about how he redeems himself. Vijay Deverakonda’s stellar performance as the medical surgeon with anger management issues was widely talked about. It will be a big challenge for any actor to outperform him.
