Eagerly waiting for Bilal: Dulquer Salmaan

If things were normal, ‘Bilal’, the much hyped sequel to ‘Big B’ would have gone on floors by now. But due to the lockdown, the makers had to postpone their plans. Despite all the delay, the excitement about the film only keeps growing. Not just the fans, even celebs are eagerly looking forward to it. Recently, during a live interaction session with his followers in Instagram, Dulquer was asked by one of them about his expectations on ‘Bilal’. The star replied that he just can’t wait for the film.

Interestingly, today (April 13) marks the 13th anniversary of Big B’s release. Though it was a stylishly shot gangster flick, the film could not fare well during the time of its theatrical release. But over the years, it went on to attain a cult status among the Malayali audience. Mammootty’s Bilal John Kurishingal still remains one of his most celebrated characters.

Amal Neerad, who made his debut with ‘Big B’, is helming the second part as well. Mammootty, Bala, Manoj K Jayan and Mamta Mohandas will be reprising their roles. Unni R is scripting the film and it will have music by Gopi Sunder. Shoot is expected to begin soon after the Corona crisis is over.
