Excellent weekend on the cards for Mamangam
Mammootty’s period film ‘Mamangam’ got released last Friday (December 12) amidst massive expectations. The film had a simultaneous worldwide release. In Kerala, it was released in 389 screens. As expected, the film has taken a huge opening at all the centres, especially in the home state Kerala. The makers had claimed that the first day collections from the worldwide box office account to around Rs 23 crore.
The film is having excellent bookings at all major centres for the weekend shows. Almost all the main theatres are having high occupancy. In Kerala, special shows were added in several centres on the opening couple of days. On the first day alone, ‘Mamangam’ had over 1800 shows. Apart from the original Malayalam version, the dubbed Tamil, Telugu and Hindi versions have also been released simultaneously.
‘Mamangam’ directed by M Padmakumar is an epic film made on a huge budget. Mammootty and Unni Mukundan play fearless warriors in the film, which is the story of chaaverukal. Child actor Achuthan also plays a very important role in it. The supporting cast includes Kaniha, Anu Sithara, Prachi Tehlan, Siddique, Sudev Nair, Tarun Arora, Suresh Krishna, Manikuttan, Manikandan, Ineya and Sudheer Sukumaran.
Venu Kunnappilly of Kavya Films has produced this mega budget film.
