Finally Dangal has surpassed Baahubali 2 to emerge as the highest grossing Indian movie
For the past one month, there was a mouthwatering contest between Aamir Khan’s Dangal and SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2: The Conclusion to become the highest grossing Indian movie. Baahubali 2 held the top spot for a long time but now according to latest reports, the Aamir Khan starrer has surpassed it to seal the numero uno position.
As per latest figures from trade sources, Dangal has earned Rs 1743 crore worldwide, while Baahubali 2 has netted Rs 1530 crore.
Trade analyst Haricharan Pudipeddi wrote,
“With its WW gross collections, #AamirKhan’s #Dangal has officially beaten #Baahubali2 at the box-office. Well deserved success
Dangal after it’s initial run, was released on May 5 in China. The movie is getting phenomenal response from the country.
It has already Rs 810 crore from the Chinese box office.”
Ramesh Bala tweeted,

About Baahubali’s business he tweeted,

However, it must be noted that Baahubali 2: The Conclusion has not yet released in China. Eventhough the first part- Baahubali: The Beginning was not successful there, the makers are very optimistic this time around. They have made it clear that they are looking to release the film with a proper strategy this time in China, Japan, Taiwan, Latin American countries, among others.
