Finally! Kalidas Jayaram’s Tamil movie Oru Pakka Kathai to release soon
Kalidas Jayaram’s second Tamil movie Oru Pakka Kathai directed by Balaji Tharaneetharan was involved in a lot of troubles with the censor board. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) officals wanted to remove the word ‘intercourse’ from the movie, which was strictly opposed by the makers.
Finally, after battling for seven long months, the film has finally been given a U certificate with some minor cuts. When asked to remove the word ‘intercourse’, the makers had approached the revising committee five months ago. The revising committee had no objection, but they wanted to check with the Mumbai head office. That process actually lasted for a long tim. Finally, the CBFC officals have certified the film and have also retained the word ‘intercourse’.
Oru Pakka Kathai stars Kalidas Jayaram and Megha Akash in the lead roles. PV Chandramoulli, Jeeva Ravi, Lakshmi Priya Menon and Meena play important roles in the movie. KS Sreenivasan funded the movie under the banner of Vasan’s Visual Ventures. Shoot for the movie was wrapped up over an year back. Now, the makers are hopeful of releasing the movie in a couple of months time.
