Gautham Menon heaps praise on Kalidas Jayaram’s performance in Paava Kadhaigal
Netflix’s maiden Tamil anthology, ‘Paava Kadhaigal’ is gearing up for release on December 18. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Vetrimaaran, Sudha Kongara and Vignesh Shivan are helming a short film each in this anthology. ‘Paava Kadhaigal’, which translates to sin stories, has four storylines that will showcase how love, pride, sin and honour influence complex human relationships.
In a recent interview, director Gautham Menon showered praise of Kalidas Jayaram’s performance in the film. The latter is essaying the central character in Sudha Kongara’s film titled ‘Thankam’. Kalidas plays a trans person’s role in it. According to Gautham Menon, the trans angle is very beautifully depicted in the film and Kalidas’ performance as the trans person Sathar is worth a mention. The director also sounded impressed with how well Sudha has conceived the film. Titled as ‘Thangam’, it also has Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Bhavani Sre.
As confirmed by the directors themselves, ‘Paava Kadhaigal’ will be a very intense film with several hard-hitting moments in it. The film will explore the intricacies of complex relationships through these gut-wrenching stories.
Vignesh Shivan’s film titled as ‘Love Panna Uttranum’ will be the quirkiest of the four. It stars Anjali and Bollywood actress Kalki Koechlin as the leads. In Vetrimaaran’s film, ‘Or Iravu’, Sai Pallavi and Prakash Raj essay the lead roles. Gautham Menon’s film has been titled as ‘Vaanmagal’ and it has the director himself playing the main lead along with Simran.
