Ratheesh, late actor who is been considered as one of the best ever actor in negative roles Mollywood had ever seen. No one can forget the villain ‘Mohan Thomas’ in the Shaji Kailas-Renji Panikker-Suresh Gopi Blockbuster film named ‘Commissioner’, played by Late Ratheesh. He is kind of actor who gaves his 100% to the characters he got and by using his easy and natural way of reacting he gave evergreen negative roles to Mollywood.
Another interesting fact about Ratheesh is that it was he who introduced Mega star Mammootty to master director I V Sasi. When I V Sasi planned a film named Thrishna based on the script of M T Vasudevan Nair, he wanted to cast new faces in the film. He looked for it and considered many actors but without any success. That time Ratheesh was a popular and busy actor and when I V Sasi called him regarding this matter.
Ratheesh said that he will send a young man and he has the talent to be a great actor may be a better actor than Ratheesh himself in the coming years.It was Mammootty whom Ratheesh sent to I V Sasi. Mammootty delivered good performance and I V Sasi is so impressed with his performance that Sasi made him the hero of his next film Ahimsa as well. Later Mammootty become a big star in Mollywood and the bond between Mammootty and Ratheesh grew more than of collegues.

Now it’s the turn of Ratheesh’s son Padmaraj Ratheesh to continue with that bond with Mammootty. Padmaraj is the main villain of Mammootty’s last release Fireman directed Deepu Karunakaran and Padmaraj has got great appreciation for his performance in the film. The interesting thing is that it was Mammootty who chose Padmaraj for this film after seeing some of his photos he took while he accompanied his sister Parvathi Ratheesh for a photo shoot who is also making her debut in Mollywood through the film named Madhura Naranga.
Once Ratheesh gave chance to Mammootty and that turned the life of Mammootty to a great direction and now it’s the time for Mammootty to repeat what Ratheesh has done for him. And we all hope that this decision my Mammootty to give a chance to Padmaraj in his film will give us a great villain like Ratheesh in the coming years.
