Here’s Dulquer Salmaan as Gemini Ganesan in his Telugu film Mahanati

As we had reported earlier, Dulquer Salmaan is making his Telugu debut this year with Mahanati. The movie directed by Nag Ashwin is the biopic on legendary actress Savithri. While Keerthy Suresh plays Savithri’s role, Dulquer will be seen as yesteryear actor Gemini Ganesan in the movie. The makers have released Dulquer’s look in the movie and he looks strikingly similar to the late actor.

Gemini Ganesan was briefly married to Savithri and Mahanati will showcase more about their relationship. Dulquer is playing the different phases of the actor, for which he will be seen in multiple looks. Samantha and ‘Arjun Reddy’ fame Vijay Devarakonda are playing journalists in the movie. The story evolves as the two set out to piece together the story of Savithri’s life. Rajendra Prasad, Mohan Babu, Shalini Pandey and Prakash Raj are also part of the supporting cast.

Mahanati is being produced by Vyjayanthi Movies. It is currently nearing the final stages of shooting and the makers are planning to wrap it up by the end of this month. As announced recently, the movie will be hitting screens worldwide on March 29. It is also a being made simultaneously in Tamil as ‘Nadigayar Thilagam’. A dubbed version in Malayalam is also planned to be released on the same day.
