Here’s the first look poster of Shakuntala Devi biopic
As reported by us earlier, a biopic on renowned mathematician Shakuntala Devi is getting made in Hindi. Vidya Balan is starring in the film, which is set to be directed by Anu Menon. Vikram Malhotra of Abundantia Entertainment and Sony Pictures Network are jointly producing the film. Its first look poster has just been released online.
Shakuntala Devi was popularly called as the ‘Human Computer’. Her extraordinary skill in solving complex mathematical problems earned her a place in the 1982 edition of The Guinness Book of World Records. She has also written a number of books, including novels as well as texts about mathematics, puzzles, and astrology.
Shakuntala Devi wrote the book ‘The World of Homosexuals’, which is considered the first study of homosexuality in India. She treated homosexuality in an understanding light and is considered a pioneer in the field. It will be interesting to see Vidya Balan, arguably the finest female actor in the country, bring life to such a legendary person.
Anu Menon and Nayanika Mahtani have scripted the film, with dialogues by Ishita Moitra. Shoot will be beginning shortly and the film is planned as a summer release next year.
