I can assure you that one would see a stylish Mammukka in Streetlights: Director Shamdat
Streetlights is Mammootty’s next film in the pipeline. The movie is slated for a November release and the makers are currently busy with the final patch up works. It is a bilingual movie made simultaneously in Tamil and Malayalam. The megastar himself is producing this movie under his banner Playhouse Pictures.
Streetlights marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen. It is a crime thriller in which Mammootty plays the role of an investigative officer. The first look posters of the movie was released recently in which Mammootty looked stylish as ever. In a recent interview the director assured you that the veteran star will be seen in an absolute stylish look in the film. Fans are already excited after the highly promising first look posters.
Reportedly, Mammootty is very confident about the project. He decided to produce the film after being impressed with the screenplay. The makers have maintained high secrecy about this film which has further raised the curiosity among the audience.
Shamdat is a veteran cameraman who was worked in several films across all four South Indian languages. Some of his notable works include Ritu, Seniors, Uttama Villain. He is also the DOP of Kamal Haasan’s much anticipated Vishwaroopam 2.
Unlike most bilinguals, Shamdat’s directorial debut Streetlights was shot separately in both languages with different set of actors. The Malayalam verison stars Joy Mathew, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Neena Kurup, Lijomol Jose, Sohan Seenulal, Indrans, Sudhi Koppa and Harish Kanaran among others.
Veteran actor Pandiarajan, Prithvi Rajan, Manobala, Black Pandi, Motta Rajendran and some other noted supporting actors feature in the Tamil version. The movie doesn’t have a heroine as such, as it is a tale of many characters.
Newcomer Fawaz Muhammed has scripted the movie. Debutant Adarsh Abraham has composed the songs and Iyobinte Pusthakam fame Yakzan Pereira and Neha Nair are handling the background score and. Director Shamdat’s brother Sadat Sainudeen has cranked the camera.
