“I owe my career to Irrfan Khan”, pens Fahadh Faasil in his note of remembrance!
April 29 was a terrible day for the world of cinema as Irrfan Khan, one of the finest actors of our times, passed away. The actor had been battling cancer for the past two years and he breathed last day at a private hospital in Mumbai. Film personalities, politicians, sports persons and fans from across the country paid their tributes to the much-revered actor.
Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil shared a touching note in which he said he owes his acting career to Irrfan Khan. Fahadh has written about how he discovered Irrfan, the actor during his student days at America. ‘Yuh Hoya Toh Kya Hota’ directed by Naseeruddin Shah was the first time Fahadh noticed Irrfan and according to him, it was the first time he saw an actor who was ‘original’ on screen.

Though Fahadh has never seen or met Irrfan Khan, he considers him to be fortunate enough to have collaborated with actors and filmmakers who had worked with him. The ‘Amen’ actor regrets not being able to meet the man who changed his life forever. It was while discovering Irrfan that Fahadh decided to drop out of engineering and act in films.
