Is Kasaba a movie against women ? Nithin Renji Panicker explains
Mammootty movie Kasaba directed by Nithin Renji Panicker had made an awesome start at box office. At the same time, it landed in some controversies as well. There were reports earlier that the film is not suitable for family audience due to some dialogues in the movie which has some double meanings. Now, another controversy had popped up as the state women commission had come against Kasaba saying that it is a movie that insults womanhood.
They says that many dialogues by Mammootty in the film insults womanhood and they are going to take legal action against movie and Mammootty. Director and writer of this movie, Nithin Renji Panicker had come out and explains about this situation.
Nithin Renji Panicker says that Kasaba reflects the attitude of our society. There are many bad things happening against women in our society and Kasaba reflects only that. He asks why we are raising our voice against a movie after keeping silence against what is happening against women in our society. According to Nithin Renji Panicker, the women in our society not gets the deserved respect and his movie only reflected that situation.
Nithin Renji Panicker says that he is ready to face any legal procedures against his movie. But, before doing that against a movie, they have to think about whether they are resolving the issues that happening against women in our society or not, says Nithin Renji Panicker.
He said that Mammootty is not a person who insults women in real life. But the character he played in this film is not a good person. We can’t create every characters in a movie as noble people. It the freedom of a filmmaker to create a character who is good or bad according to the plot.
