Jayaraj to direct a sequel to Johnnie walker!

It has been 27 years since the release of Mammootty’s ‘Johnnie walker’. The Jayaraj directorial was a trendsetter in the 90s that got noted for its different style of filmmaking and was also a big hit at the box office. After nearly three decades, the director is planning to make a sequel to the film.

‘Johnnie walker’ ends with the unfortunate death of Mammootty’s character, Johnny Varghese. The second part apparently unfolds from the viewpoint of Kuttapayi, Johnny’s acquaintance Reports suggest that, Jayaraj had approached Dulquer Salmaan with the project but the actor seemed not very interested with the offer. Jayaraj is now expected to do the film with some other young star. An official announcement regarding the same is expected to be made very shortly.

The director is currently making a film titled ‘Backpack’ with Kalidas Jayaraj in the lead. Newcomer Karthika plays the female lead, which we presume to be a travel flick.
