Jino John : The hero of Oru Mexican Aparatha’s real story
Debutant Tom Emmatty’s campus political drama Oru Mexican Aparatha has opened to excellent response from the audience. The movie is doing massive business this weekend and is certain to continue the successful run in the coming days also.
Oru Mexican Aparatha stars Tovino Thomas in the lead role. He has played the the lead role of Paul, a student in the Maharajas College. The basic plot of OMA is how Paul and his friends, who represent SFY, stand up against the atrocities of the ruling party KSQ and how they manage to win the college election.
The director has taken the cinematic liberty to change the party names to SFY and KSQ though it is ostensible that the parties mentioned here are SFI and KSU.
However, there is an interesting story behind Oru Mexican Aparatha. In real life, Jino John, a KSU representative won the Maharajas college union elections. It was after 37 long years that a KSU leader became the chairman of Maharajas college.
Jino has also acted in Oru Mexican Aparatha as a KSQ activist. He has given a commendable performance in the movie. He made his debut last year in Dileesh Pothen’s Maheshinte Prathikaram, in which he played the role of Jimson’s sidekick. In fact, the popular phrase “commondra Maheshe” was Jino’s dialogue in the movie.
