Kalabhavan Shajohn shines in a brief but memorable role in 2.0
Rajinikanth’s 2.0 is the current talk of town. The movie which got released last day has opened to phenomenal response, both in the Indian and overseas box office. Early reports from trade experts suggest that the movie has emerged as the highest opening day grosser in Kollywood. It is expected to shatter multiple records in the coming days.
Directed by the ace Shankar, 2.0 has two of Indian cinema’s biggest superstars – Rajinikanth and Akshay Kumar – coming together for the first time. After the initial shows, the movie has opened to unanimously positive reviews. Even those who were skeptical about the film after its trailer and promos, have changed their opinion and are busy heaping praise on this visual spectacle.
Director Shankar’s love for Kerala and its actors is well known as most of his films have had a Malayali presence. Vineeth in ‘Gentleman’, Nedumudi Venu in ‘Anniyan’ ‘Indian’, Cochin Haneefa in ‘Mudhalvan’, ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Anniyan’, Kalabhavan Mani in ‘Enthiran’ and ‘Anniyan’ and Suresh Gopi in ‘I’ are a few examples. 2.0 also has a Malayali presence in Kalabhavan Shajohn. The actor was chosen by Shankar after being impressed by his performance in ‘Drishyam’. Shajon plays the Telecom Minister’s role in the film. Though it is a brief role, the actor’s performance made it memorable.
Last day, Shajon shared a couple of photos taken with Akshay Kumar and Shankar from the movie’s sets. He also thanked the audience for accepting the movie and his character. The actor is expected to bag more meaty in roles in Tamil in the future.
