Kamal in talks with Parvathy Menon for Aami
Director Kamal’s upcoming biopic Aami based on the life of revolutionary writer Kamala Das has been in the news for sometime now. Bollywood actress Vidya Balan was initially signed to play the lead in this movie.
However, the actress recently opted out of the project over creative differences with the director. Later it was reported that another Bollywood actress Tabu will be playing the lead in the movie. But Kamal dismissed the reports and said he never considered Tabu for the role.
Latest development in the camp is that, the talented diva Parvathy Menon has been approached to play the title role. Reportedly, Kamal has met Parvathy Menon for a few discussions and they are trying to sort out dates from the actor’s busy schedule.
Parvathy in her second innings in the industry garnered rave reviews with her performance in movies like Maryan, Bangalore Days, Ennu Ninte Moideen, Uttama Villain and Charlie. She won the State Award last year for her incredible performance in Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie.
Parvathy Menon’s next release will be debutant Mahesh Narayanan’s Take Off, a movie based on some real life incidents during the Iraq war. Meanwhile, she has also finished the first schedule of My Story in Poland. She is playing the female lead opposite her Ennu Ninte Moideen co-star Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Parvathy will be the perfect choice for the role of Aami as she is known for her amazing acting prowess and her dedication for the craft. An official word about her casting is still awaited from director Kamal
