Megastar Mammootty’s latest film, “Kannur Squad,” has taken the box office by storm since its release. Directed by Roby Varghese Raj, this crime investigation thriller has not only captured the hearts of audiences worldwide but is also poised to become one of the biggest hits in Mammootty’s illustrious career.
In just four days, the film has grossed an astounding 30 crores worldwide, with Kerala contributing over 13 crores to its impressive tally. The overseas box office numbers stand at a remarkable 14 crores, showcasing the film’s global appeal.
Even in the face of torrential rains, “Kannur Squad” saw an unprecedented surge in interest on its first Sunday, with nearly 140 extra shows added in Kerala. What’s more, over 100 of these were late-night screenings, demonstrating the film’s captivating storytelling.
Initially released in 170 screens on September 28th, the film’s popularity has led to a screen count increase to 330 due to overwhelming ticket demand. It’s now highly likely that Mammootty will achieve his second 50-crore worldwide grosser with “Kannur Squad.”
This success follows Mammootty’s previous milestone of scoring his maiden 50-crore grosser with “Bheeshma Parvam,” directed by Amal Neerad. “Kannur Squad” was produced under Mammootty’s own banner and written by Rony David Raj and Muhammed Rafi.
