Khalid Rahman’s Love to be the first Indian film to release in theatres post the lockdown
Malayalam producer Ashiq Usman is making history by releasing his upcoming film ‘Love’ in theatres. The film directed by Khalid Rahman and starring Shine Tom Chacko and Rajisha Vijayan in the leads is set to be the first Indian film to release in theatres post the lockdown. It will be released in the Gulf region on the 15th of October. Needless to say, it is a brave move as audience will be hesitant to visit theatres due to the pandemic threat.
Ashiq Usman informed the release plans through a Facebook post which reads,
Hi everyone, hope you’ll are doing well & safe?
My upcoming film “LOVE”is the first Indian film to release in Cinemas post the lockdown.
It’s set to release in the Gulf on 15th October with all necessary precautions for a safe experience.

During the lockdown days, Khalid Rahman shot the film with a small team. Shine Tom and Rajisha Vijayan will be seen playing a couple in the film. Rajisha plays a character named Deepthi while Shine’s role is named as Anoop. The entire film is set in an apartment complex. Sudhi Koppa, ‘Kettyolaan Ente Malakha’ fame Veena Nandakumar, Sudhi Koppa, Gokulan and Johny Antony are also part of the supporting cast.
Khalid Rahman and editor Noufal Abdullah have co-written the film. The director’s brother Jimshi Khalid has hanlded the cinematography and music is done by Neha Nair and Yakzan Gary Pereira. The team shot the film in just around 20 days by following all the government protocols.
