Kumbalangi Nights storms past the Rs 20 crore mark
‘Kumbalangi Nights’, the latest from the trio of Fahadh Faasil, Dileesh Pothan and Syam Pushkaran continues to do extremely well in theatres. The movie has got unanimously positive reviews from critics and likewise from the common audience as well. As per latest from box office trackers, the movie has fetched Rs 20 crores from its first 10 days of theatrical run.
‘Kumbalangi Nights’ has grossed Rs 10.04 crores from Kerala box office and Rs 8.41 crores from the GCC centres. From it’s first three days of run in the rest of India (RoI) centres, the movie has earned Rs 1.60 crore. In major RoI centres like Chennai and Bangalore, the movie is running to housefull shows back to back, courtesy the positive word of mouth that has been spreading like wildfire in social medias.
Directed by debutant Madhu C Narayanan, ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ is a family drama centred around the lives of four friends, played by Soubin Shahir, Sreenath Bhasi, Shane Nigam and Mathew Thomas. Fahadh Faasil essays a negative role in the film. Syam Pushkaran’s delicately layered script, the actors’ performances and all the technical aspects beautifully jell together to form what is a near flawless film.
