Kunchako Boban’s yet-to-be released Shikkari Shambu to be remade in Tamil
The trend of remaking Malayalam movies have been prevalent for a long time. But it is not often that the remake rights of a movie gets sold even before its release. Reportedly, Kunchacko Boban’s upcoming release Shikkari Shambu is one such film. It is learnt that the movie’s Tamil remake rights has already been acquired by a leading production house in Kollywood.
Shikkari Shambu marks the reunion of Kunchacko Boban with director Sugeeth and writer Nishad Koya after delivering hits like Ordinary and Madhura Naranga. It is a fun entertainer set in a fictional village ‘Kuruthimalakavu’ located at the heart of the beautiful Idamalayar and Bhoothathankettu. The core plot evolves when Peeli, played by Kunchacko Boban, and his gang reach the village in the disguise of wild hunters.
Sshivada is paired opposite Kunchacko Boban in this movie. Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Hareesh Kanaran, Krishna Kumar, newbie Alphy Panjikaran and Salim Kumar play other major roles. Directors Aji John, Johnny Antony and MA Noushad are also part of the supporting cast.
Popular Tamil producer RK Suresh is playing the villain role in this movie. Reportedly, the Tamil remake rights of Shikkari Shambu has been acquired by him after being impressed by the subject. The movie’s story is written by Shanavas Abbas and Raju Chandra.
Shoot for Shikkari Shambu has already been wrapped up and the team is currently busy with post-production works. Lawrence Angel Maria Films is producing this movie which is expected to hit screens early next year.
