Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri hits screens tomorrow; Watch out for Suraj Venjaramoodu’s stellar performance!
Ever since he won the National award, Suraj Venjaramoodu has been on a totally different league finding the right balance between comic and performance-oriented roles. After giving amazing performances in movies like Action Hero Biju, Kammattipadam, Varnyathil Aashanka and Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Suraj is set to bowl over the audience with his latest outing, Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri. The movie directed by Jean Markose of ‘Angels’ fame is slated to hit screens tomorrow (May 11).
Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri scripted by newcomer Joselet Joseph is touted to be a realistic family drama. Suraj Venjaramoodu plays the lead role of Plachottil Kuttan Pillai, a 58-year-old senior police constable. It is said to be one of the most challenging roles he has ever played. Kuttanpilla is someone who is very tough on the outer but is caring and compassionate within. Suraj has mentioned that he drew inspiration from his father to play the role of Kuttanpilla.
The core plot of Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri is centred around a series of events that occur in Kuttan Pillai’s house when his relatives – his children, their spouses and extended family – converge at his humble home to attend the annual Shiva Rathri festival. Biju Sopanam of ‘Uppum Mulakum’ fame and Srinda Arhaan play a couple in the movie. Mithun Ramesh, Srikant Murali, Kochu Preman, Poojappura Radhakrishnan, Rajesh Manarkad and James Eliyas are also part of the supporting cast.
Kuttanpillayude Sivarathri is releasing tomorrow amidst a positive buzz. Movie lovers are waiting for another wonderful performance from Suraj. Raji Nandakumar is producing the movie under the banner of Alanghat Productions.
