L3 Confirmed; Prithviraj Sticks to Anamorphic Lenses and 1:2.8 Aspect Ratio for Entire Franchise
The much-anticipated Lucifer franchise continues to grow as Prithviraj Sukumaran has officially confirmed the third installment, L3. During a recent interaction, the actor-director revealed his vision for the technical consistency of the trilogy. Prithviraj stated, “#L2E #EMPURAAN was not shot with full-format lenses. I’d like to stick to anamorphic and a 1:2.8 aspect ratio for all three films of this franchise.”
This exciting announcement follows the recent buzz around L2: Empuraan, the sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Lucifer, which starred Mohanlal as the enigmatic Stephen Nedumpally. Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran and written by Murali Gopy, Empuraan promises to elevate the narrative with an international-scale story, delving deeper into the layered persona of Mohanlal’s character.
Empuraan, produced by Antony Perumbavoor under Aashirvad Cinemas in collaboration with Lyca Productions, wrapped up a 14-month-long shoot spanning the USA, UK, and UAE. Featuring a stellar cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, and Manju Warrier, the film’s teaser will release on January 26, with the movie hitting theaters on March 27, 2025.
With L3 already in motion, fans can expect the Lucifer trilogy to become an iconic cinematic legacy, offering technical brilliance and gripping storytelling.
