Leading production houses from other languages in talks for Anjaam Pathiraa remake rights
‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ has emerged as the first superhit of 2020 from Malayalam cinema. The film released on January 10 amidst less fanfare but it became hot in demand after the initial shows. Positive reviews started flooding in on social medias and audience thronged theatres in large numbers. The film is fast moving towards becoming one of the biggest blockbusters in lead actor Kunchacko Boban’s two-decade long career.
Meanwhile, leading production houses from other languages are in talks with ‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ team for the remake rights. Though the film is yet to be released in most centres there, preview shows are being arranged for these banners. Director Midhun Manuel Thomas himself revealed this in a recent interview. He also added that if given an opportunity to remake the film, he would be tweaking the script slightly and try to make it a more refined product.
‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ is a crime-investigation thriller centred around a series of brutal murders. Along with Kunchacko Boban, the film has a big supporting cast comprising of Remya Nambeesan, Sreenath Bhasi, Indrans, Unnimaya Prasad, Jinu Joseph and many others. The core technical team of cinematographer Shyju Khalid, editor Saiju Sreedhar and music director Sushin Shyam proved to be the film’s biggest strengths.
‘Anjaam Pathiraa’ has a storyline that will appeal to audience irrespective of the language and culture. So the film definitely has great potential to be remade in various languages. If a good team comes together, it is certain to reap success in any industry.
