Madhavan and Fahadh Faasil in Mani Ratnam’s next?
For the past few months, there have been several reports about Mani Ratnam planning a Tamil-Telugu bilingual movie. Names like Dulquer Salmaan, Nani, Mahesh Babu and Ram Charan have been doing the rounds for sometime now. But according to latest reports, the director is planning to rope in Madhavan and Fahadh Faasil and to play the lead roles in his upcoming movie.
Apparently, the legendary director has approached both the actors but they are yet to take a call. A source is quoted saying to Hindustan Times, “It’s going to take a few more weeks before we can even expect something concrete. Madhavan has a Hindi film in his kitty and he needs to work out his dates if he signs this project. Fahadh is excited about the idea but he is yet to take a call as he is also busy with prior commitments.”
If this project happens, then it will be Madhavan’s fifth film with Mani Ratnam after Alaipayuthey (also his debut film), Aayutha Ezhuthu, Kannathil Muthamittal and Guru. Fahadh, meanwhile is awaiting the release of his debut Tamil film Velaikkaran, directed by Mohan Raja. He plays the antagonist in the movie which also stars Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara in major roles.
Recently, renowned cinematographer Santosh Sivan had revealed that he will be wielding the camera for Mani Ratnam’s next. Let’s hope this news turns out to be true. Imagine Mani Ratnam and Santhosh Sivan calling shots for two amazing actors like Madhavan and Fahadh Faasil.
Mani Ratnam’s last release was Kaatru Veliyidai, a love story starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead roles. The highly anticipated film ended up as a failure at the box office. So the director will be itching to bounce back with his next movie.
