Makers reveal the reason behind designing such a look for Ithikara Pakki
Kayamkulam Kochunni is the current talk of the town in Mollywood. The movie directed by Roshan Andrews stars Nivin Pauly as Kochunni while Mohanlal plays an extended cameo as Ithikkara Pakki. Photos from the movie’s sets have been ruling social medias for the past one week.
Mohanlal’s stunning look in the movie has been widely discussed. Many were skeptical about how Ithikara Pakki, a thief from Kerala, sports such a look with costumes resembling that of ancient Greek warriors. Script writer Sanjay, in na interview to TOI, has clarified about why the opted for such a look and the thought process that went behind it.
According to him, Ithikkara Pakki lived in an era when we had a lot of trade with the the Arabs, British and the Portuguese. Pakki was also an was an adventurous traveler who looted from these traders. He has a lot of international connections, so his look in the movie is an amalgamation of all their cultures.
The makers zeroed in on this particular look for Pakki from around 25 different sketches. The movie also has an exact description on how he got this attire. Mohanlal as Ithikara Pakki makes his appearance at a very crucial juncture in the story and has around 40 minutes screen time. His combination scenes with Nivin Pauly would be the movie’s major highlight.
Shoot for the movie is currently progressing in Mangalore. Mohanlal has allotted 15 days for this movie after which he will be joining the sets of Odiyan. Kayamkulam Kochunni is expected to hit screens for this coming Onam.
