Malayali woman in UAE pleads for help
Ann Nadiya, hailing from Kollam is trapped in UAE after her company has failed to give her salary for the past few months. Ann Nadiya reached UAE ten months back. She was employed in a company named Asmac Al Jaseer. The company paid her salary regularly for the first three months by hand.
They helped her open a bank account in UAE. The company officials then took the ATM cards and the PIN number of all the staff. After that she hasn’t received salary for more than 3 months now. The company has only two ladies staff. Both of them don’t have an Emirates ID card or passport. They don’t have medical insurance or enough money for even recharging their phones. When they filed a case in the labour court, the company presented forged bank documents and claimed that they have been remitting the staff’s regularly.
The company is owned by two Malayalis and a Chennai native. Ann Nadiya and her friend are now in a down-and-out situation with no money to even inform their friends and family back home. When they approached some Malayalis in UAE for help, the men demanded for immoral favours. Ann recently has posted a Facebook status where she has written that they are on the verge of suicide and has asked for some help through Malayali association or any other welfare group.
