Mammookka suggested me for the police officer’s role in Oru Kuttanadan Blog: Shamna Kasim
Shamna Kasim has been away from the Malayalam film industry for a while. Though she has been a regular face in all the events and stage shows, it has been a while since Shamna has played a part in a Malayalam movie. The actress is now set for a comeback with a handful of big projects like Oru Kuttanadan Blog (OKB), Aanakallan, Maduraraja and Toll Gate.
Oru Kuttanadan Blog stars megastar Mammootty in the lead. Sethu is directing this movie which has Shamna playing the role of a police officer. Interestingly, it was Mammootty who suggested her for the role. The actress herself revealed this in a recent interview. Shamna also thanks her short hair, which she had shaved for a Tamil movie, to help her bagging the role in OKB.
Oru Kuttanadan Blog is a rural entertainer set in a village named Krishnapuram. Mammootty plays the role of Hari, a big-brother like figure, fondly called as Hari ettan in the locality. Shamna essays the role of Neena, a playful-but-powerful police officer who compliments Mammootty’s character. Shamna thanks the megastar for supporting her throughout the movie. She is also excited to have bagged a role in his upcoming movie, Maduraraja.
Oru Kuttanadan Blog has Raai Laxmi and Anu Sithara as the other two female leads. Sunny Wayne, Jacob Gregory, Shaheen Siddique, Vivek Gopan, Sanju Sivaram, Jude Anthany Joseph, Nedumudi Venu, Siddique, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Vineeth Kumar, Lalu Alex, Thesni Khan, Nandan Unni and Sohan Seenulal form the huge supporting cast.
The movie is being produced by Murali Dharan and Santha Murali under the banner of Anantha Vision. Reports suggest August 24 as the release date but an official confirmation is still awaited.
