Mollywood Mega Star Mammootty is all set to increase his remuneration from this coming year as per reports. Mammootty was not in his best as a star in the last four years but this year had given him a new life. From 2010-2014, he was literally struggling at box office as a star with only one or two average successes at box office. But this year had been a good one for him with mass and class successes came to his kitty. That prompted him to increase the remuneration reportedly. Now financers is ready to give him around 2.5 crore per film. It was around 2 crore earlier. So a hike about 50 lakhs will make his remuneration around 2.5 crore from the coming year as per reports.
This year had begun with a moderate success like Fireman for him. It was directed by Deepu Karunakaran and it really gave Mammootty a sigh of relief from a series of failures that he suffered in the last four years. Then he backed it up with Bhaskar the Rascal directed by Siddique which had become a mass hit of this year and it was the first blockbuster of him in the last 4 years. Even though his next 2 films named Acha Din and Uttopyayile Rajavu went on to become disasters he back strongly again with the class success of Pathemari. He had got great appreciation as an actor for his character in Pathemari.
Bhaskar the Rascal and Pathemari had almost completed 100 days of run in theaters as well. Next year, the first release of Mammootty will be the AK Sajan directorial film Puthiya Niyamam. Now mega star hope to continue his good form to next year with a handful of hopeful projects. Projects like Mega star 393 by Akhil Paul, One Two Three by newcomer Saji, Uday Ananthan directorial film White is his other hopeful films.
White had already started its filming in London and it has Huma Qureshi as the female lead. But his big project will be Mega Star 393 by Akhil Paul.
