Mammootty and Pranav Mohanlal likely to clash this Republic Day!
It’s the start of a new year and we, the Malayali audience, are already set to witness a massive box office clash. Mammootty’s investigative thriller Street Lights and Pranav Mohanlal’s much awaited debut as a lead actor, Aadhi, is set to face off on Republic Day (January 26). Both the movies are highly anticipated by the audience; so a mouthwatering contest is definitely on cards.
Street Lights marks the directorial debut of noted cinematographer Shamdat Sainudeen. The movie scripted by debutant Fawaz Muhammed has Mammootty playing the role of an investigating officer. Shot as a bilingual in Tamil and Malayalam, the movie has different set of supporting actors for each version. If reports are to be believed, it is also being dubbed in Telugu. All three verisons are expected to hit screens simultaneously. Director Shamdat calls the movie as an ‘entertainment thriller’ since he believes that the movie will be appealing to all kinds of audience; especially the families. The movie will have equal dose of action, thrill, humour, romance and songs. Mammootty himself is producing the film under his banner Play House Motion Picture Pvt Ltd.
Aadhi, written and directed by Jeethu Joseph, marks Pranav Mohanlal’s highly anticipated return to acting. The movie has massive expectations among the audience; mainly Mohanlal fans. The superstar’s own production house Aashirvad Cinemas is funding this movie. Pranav’s performance in the fight sequences is said to be the major highlight in Aadhi. Prior to the movie’s shoot, the youngster had undergone Parkour training in Bangkok as his character in the movie demanded such traits. Foreign stunt masters were flown in to choreograph the stylish Parkour scenes. An official word regarding the release date has not yet been given, but trustworthy reports suggest that the makers are eyeing for January 26.
