Mammootty to star in Malayalam cinema’s first ever game thriller
Mammootty’s dates for the next couple of years is almost full with around ten projects already in the pipeline. If reports are to be believed, the 66-year-old superstar has committed for yet another one. This yet-to-be titled movie will mark the directorial debut of Deen Dennis, the younger son of veteran scriptwriter Kaloor Dennis. And interestingly, it will be the first ever game thriller in Malayalam cinema.
Deen Dennis has also scripted this movie which has Mammootty playing Vinod Menon, a travel buff. The movie is based on a series of mysterious incidents that occur in Kochi city. How these incidents are connected to the protagonist, Vinod Menon, form the crux of the story. According to the director, the movie will be a mass thriller with all commercial elements.
Apart from Mammootty, a prominent young actor from Tamil industry will also be part of the movie. Pre-production works are currently progressing and the makers are planning to start shooting by December this year. Kochi and Bangalore have been finalized as the major locations.
Meanwhile, Mammootty is busy shooting for Oru Kuttandan Blog, a rural entertainer which marks the maiden directorial of noted scriptwriter Sethu. Parole, a family-drama featuring Mammootty as sakhav Alex, will be his next release; slated to hit screens next week. The megastar also has a string of other films like Uncle, Peranbu and Abrahaminte Santhathikal getting ready for release.
