Mammootty won the best actor award for Malayalam at Filmfare Awards 2016 (South)
Mega Star Mammootty had won his 13th best actor Filmfare award last day, when he was chosen as the best actor from Mollywood of the year 2015 at 63rd Britannia Filmfare awards. Mammootty had won the award for his performance in the movie named Pathemari directed by Salim Ahammad last year. Now he holds the record of the most number of filmfare awards by a Malayalam actor as he got his 13th Filmfare award this year. Mohanlal who had won 9 Filmfare awards is at the second place from Mollywood.
Pathemari is chosen as the Best film from Malayalam and Parvathy had won the best actress award for her performance in the film Ennu Ninte Moideen. RS Vimal had won the best director award for making the film Ennu Ninte Moideen. Tovino Thomas and Lena won best supporting actor male and supporting actor female award respectively for their performance in the film Ennu ninte Moideen.
M Jayachandran won the best music director award for his songs in Ennu inte Moideen and Rafeeq Ahammad won best lyricist award for penning the lyrics of the song Kathirunnu from Ennu Ninte Moideen. Shreya Ghoshal won best female playback singer award for the song Kathirunnu from Ennu Ninte Moideen as well. Best playback singer male award went to Vijay Yesudas for Malare song from Premam.
Jayasurya had won the critic’s best actor award for his performance in the film Su Su Sudhi Vathmeekam and Sai Pallavi had won the best female debutant award for her performance in the movie Premam. The award ceremony was a grand one with lots of glitz and glamour and it was occurred at Hyderabad Convention Centre in Hyderabad last night.
