‘Marco’ Creates History as First A-Rated Malayalam Film to Enter ₹100 Crore Club
The Malayalam film Marco, directed by Haneef Adeni, has etched its name in history by becoming the first A-rated Malayalam movie to cross the ₹100 crore mark globally. Released on December 20, Marco has captivated audiences worldwide with its intense action and gripping narrative, earning ₹51.75 crore at the Indian box office in just 17 days.
The film is lauded as one of India’s most violent cinematic ventures, starring Unni Mukundan in the lead role, alongside Yukti Thareja and Kabir Duhan Singh. Produced by Shareef Muhammed under the Cubes Entertainments banner, Marco was made on a modest budget of ₹30 crore and has already achieved a Kerala gross exceeding ₹40 crore.
The film’s stellar technical crew includes music composer Ravi Basrur, stunt choreographer Kalai Kingson, cinematographer Chandru Selvaraj, and editor Shameer Muhammed. The Hindi and Telugu dubbed versions have also contributed significantly to its success in domestic market.
This milestone marks a career high for Unni Mukundan, securing his first solo entry into the ₹100 crore club. With its exceptional box office performance, Marco stands as a testament to the growing global appeal of Malayalam cinema.
