Nayanthara’s Netrikann is an official remake of this popular Korean film!
Nayanthara’s new film ‘Netrikann’ went on floors last day in Chennai. Milind Rau of ‘Aval’ fame is directing the film. It is being produced by the actress’ boyfriend and promising filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. His newly launched banner Rowdy Pictures is backing the film.
Interestingly, ‘Netrikann’ is the official remake of ‘Blind’, a popular Korean thriller film. The story is about a talented woman cadet at the police academy who loses her eye sight after a horrific car accident. Years later, she solves a murder case with the help of her dog and her strong skills in detecting senses.
Kim Ha-neul played the lead role in ‘Blind’ and her performance was widely appreciated. She received Best Actress honors at the 48th Grand Bell Awards and the 32nd Blue Dragon Film Awards for her performance.
‘Netrikann’ as been adapted to suit the sensibilities of the native Tamil audience. It is still a very challenging role for Nayanthara and it will be interesting to see how she performs it. The film has a bunch of talents in the technical side. It has cinematography by Karthik Ganesh, music by Girishh and edits by Lawrence Kishore.
