New release date announced for Mammootty’s The Priest
‘The Priest’ is getting ready as Mammootty’s first release post-lockdown. The film was originally scheduled to hit screens during the first week of February but the makers have now pushed it to March 4. With one more month left for release, the pandemic situation is expected to get better and hopefully, more people will start visiting theatres.
‘The Priest’ is directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko. Scripted by ‘Kunjiramayanam’ fame Deepu Pradeep and Shyam Menon, the film is said to be a mystery thriller. It a big star cast comprising of several known actors. Manju Warrier and Mammootty are acting together for the first time. Nikhila Vimal, ‘Kaithi’ fame Baby Monica, Jagadheesh, Saniya Iyappan, Ramesh Pisharody, Ameya Mathew, ‘Nayika Nayakan’ fame Venkitesh and Tony Luke will be seen in supporting roles.
On the technical front, Akhil George is the cinematographer and Shameer Muhammed handles the edits. Rahul Raj is in charge of the music department. The film is being jointly produced by Anto Joseph, B Unnikrishnan and VN Babu.
