No OTT release for Mammootty’s One; Makers confirm theatrical release
Recently, it was reported that Netflix has bagged the streaming rights of Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘One’. It lead to speculations that the film will be releasing directly in Netflix. However, the makers have confirmed that they are only looking for a theatrical release. It must also be noted that the film’s shoot has not yet been completed. An important sequence involving Mammootty amidst a huge crowd still remains to be shot.
‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ fame Santhosh Viswanath is directing ‘One’ that has Mammootty playing the lead role of Kerala Chief Minister Kadakkal Chandran. Bobby and Sanjay have scripted the film. It is a big-scale film that has been made for the big screen experience. Hence the makers want the audience to enjoy the film in theatres.
The fact that Mammootty he is doing a full-fledged political film after a very long gap in Malayalam and add to that, his first time collaboration with the famed writer duo of Bobby and Sanjay has heightened the expectations. The promos have also been highly promising so far.
As soon as the shoot restrictions are relaxed, the makers will be wrapping up the remaining portions.
