Official: Vivek Oberoi to star in Narendra Modi biopic

It seems like Bollywood’s love for biopics is not coming to an end any time soon. Already a handful of biopics are coming up this year and another one has just been announced. This time it’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is getting a biopic. Vivek Oberoi will be playing Modi’s role in the movie titled as ‘PM Narendra Modi’. Sandip Singh will be producing the movie. Shoot will be commencing this month, before that, a first look has been planned to be released this coming Monday (January 7).

The project was officially announced by Taran Adarsh. He tweeted,

IT’S OFFICIAL… Vivekanand Oberoi [Vivek Oberoi] to star in Narendra Modi biopic, titled #PMNarendraModi… Directed by Omung Kumar… Produced by Sandip Ssingh… First look poster will be launched on 7 Jan 2019… Filming starts mid-Jan 2019.

Initially, the Modi biopic was planned with veteran actor Paresh Rawal, but he opted out due to some unknown reasons. Director Omung Kumar is well known for helping two biopics – Mary Kom and Sarbjit. The Modi biopic seems like a hastily planned one. Vivek Oberoi has already started his preparations and has had a couple of look tests. If reports are to believed, the makers are planning to shoot it in a start-to-finish schedule and release before 2019 Lok Sabha elections.
