Panyan Raveendran against Mohanlal
Panyan Raveendran, former state Secretary of Communist Party of India is the latest to join the bandwagon of politicians who have come out heavily against Mohanlal.
While addressing the protest organised by Co-operative bank employees, Panyan Raveendran
criticised Mohanlal for the controversial remarks in his recent blog post.
Panyan Raveendran addressed Mohanlal as Mr Pulimurugan, pointing at his character in the recent blockbuster movie of the same name.
He said, common people are spending their hard earning to watch your movies and make them great successes. It is not very thoughtful to turn a blind eye towards their problems.
Mohanlal in his blog had written that if people could stand in long queues in liquor shops and religious centres, there is no harm in standing in front of ATMs and banks for a better tomorrow.
This comparison did not go well with many people and the actor has been receiving flak ever since his blog was updated.
Earlier, Congress MLAs VT Balaraman and VD Satheesan had criticised Mohanlal’s blog and opposed his stand on the issue.
Newly sworn in Electricity Minister of the state, MM Mani called Mohanlal as a black money holder who is supporting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for hiding his black money. CPI(M) MLA Swaraj also criticised Mohanlal through his Facebook post for supporting this ‘foolishness’ by the government.
BJP leaders from the state, Kummanam Rajasekharan and K Surendran supported the actor and defended his stand on the issue
