Parvathy files police complaint against stalker!
Malayali actress Parvathy has filed a police complaint of stalking against a man who claims to be a lawyer and director. Based on her complaint, an FIR has been filed under section 354D (Stalking) of IPC 120 of the Kerala Police Act. As per a report in The Newsminute, a man who calls himself Kishore contacted Parvathy’s brother through Facebook Messenger multiple times. He contacted her brother to enquire about her whereabouts and get in touch with her directly.
Though Parvathy was holidaying in US at the time, the man claimed that she was actually in Kochi and further claimed that she was in trouble with some kind of mafia and that he wished to save her from the same. When her brother dismissed the man’s claims, he started pestering him repeatedly with several messages on WhatsApp and Facebook, even claiming that he was in love with Parvathy. After her brother stopped responding, Kishore next started troubling her father. However, when her dad also stopped responding, the man even showed up at their house last month (October 14). Her parents then had to plead him to leave.
Parvathy says in the complaint that the continued harassment has taken a toll on her. She is quoted saying, “Stalking as a crime has not been taken seriously and this has resulted in so many women being harmed. Some even fatally. It is a very harrowing experience.”
