“Peranbu is a crown in Indian cinema”; Applause for the movie at Rotterdam Film Festival
We had recently reported about Mammootty’s long delayed Peranbu having its world premiere at this year’s International Film Festival of Rotterdam (IFFR). The movie was screened last day (January 27) and straightaway met with overwhelming response from the audience at the festival.
Director Ram attended the screening at Rotterdam along with producer PL Thenappan and his close friend and producer J Satish Kumar. After watching the movie, the latter put a series of tweets in his official Twitter handle.

Peranbu marks Mammootty’s return to Tamil film industry after a long gap. Ram is a much revered filmmaker in the Tamil industry. He is well known for his hard-hitting films like Katradhu Tamizh, Thanga Meengal and Taramani. Latest talks hints Pernabu also to be a top quality film.
Mammootty plays the role of Amudhan, a middle-class father working as a taxi driver abroad. The movie was in the news after it was revealed that transgender artist Anjali Ameer is playing a prominent role in the movie. Anjali, Baby Sadhana, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Kaniha and Samuthirakani also play significant roles in the movie.
Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed the music while editing is handled by multiple National award winner Sreekar Prasad. The movie is produced by PL Thennappan under the banner Sri Rajalakshmi Films.
