Petta release date announced; Check out this new poster!

Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’ is currently in the post-production phase. The makers are working towards a Pongal release next year. Informing their release plans, the makers shared a new poster today through their official social media handle. A stylish looking Rajinikanth and Simran feature in the poster. They play a couple in the movie.

The release date announcement has come as a big surprise as the movie’s shoot was only wrapped up recently. The team shot the movie in various locations in Tamil Nadu and across North India. They completed the entire shoot 15 days ahead of the orginally planned time. It looks like the makers were eager to cash in on the long Pongal weekned. So, as informed by us earlier, Kollywood will be witnessing a big box office clash between Ajith’s ‘Viswasam’ and Rajinikanth’s ‘Petta’.

Directed by Karthik Subbraj, ‘Petta’ is touted to be an action packed thriller. The movie has a huge star cast, probably the biggest that Tamil cinema has seen in recent years. Vijay Sethupathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Bobby Simha, Trisha, Malavika Mohanan, Sasikumar and Megha Akash will be seen in major roles. Guru Somasundaram, Munishkanth Ramdoss, Mahendran, Manikandan Achari, Sanath Reddy, Deepak Paramesh and ‘Aadukalam’ Naren are also part of the supporting cast.

‘Petta’ technical crew includes National award winning cinematographer Tirru, composer Anirudh, editor Vivek Harshan and action choreographer Peter Hein. Kalanithi Maran is producing the movie under the banner of Sun Pictures.
