Mollywood’s evergreen playback singer Radhika Thilak passed away today at a private hospital in Ernakulam. Radhika Thilak has been a part of Malayalam Cinema for the past 20 years rendering many great performances on her name.She was admitted at the hospital because of fever and was under treatment. She was a cancer patient. This amazing singer has sung more than 60 songs in her career in Mollywood.
Radhika Thilak had rendered her voice for the famous music directors like Ilayaraja,Berny Ignatius, Johnson, Raveendran, MG Radhakrishnan, Mohan Sithara, Vidyasagar etc. She started her career by singing for the 1989 movie Pachilathoni where the music direction was done by Berny Ignatius and lyrics was written by Shibu Chakravarthy.
The deceased news of Radhika Thilak has shocked the Mollywood industry and the music lovers of Kerala. Her song Mayamanchalil song from the movie Ottayal Pattalam composed by Sharreth is still one of those songs which brings this amazing singers talent and memories. Starting with Berny Ignatius she was blessed to work with many other musicians in her singing career. Other prominent songs of hers were for the movie Guru in which she sung songs like Arunakiranadeepam, Guru Charanam and Devasangeetham. She has sung duets with K J Yesudas, M G Sreekumar, G Venugopal etc. She had a career spanning from 1989 – 2009 in the Malayalam film industry.
Radhika Hari who was in the midst of malayalis with her songs will be still there in the hearts of millions and will be remembered for her contributions to the industry. Let’s all pray for her soul and may her soul rest in peace.
